Howard Payne University recently was named the top-ranked university in Texas on the Forbes 2022 College Financial Grades list. HPU received an A- grade and ranked 61st out of 905 private, not-for-profit institutions of higher education.
HPU was among only 69 institutions on the Forbes list to receive an A- ranking or higher. Ranking criteria analyzed institutions for financial aid distributed to students, spending educating their students and the ratio of debt to assets, as well as other factors.
Dr. Cory Hines ’97, HPU president, said the ranking is confirmation of successful efforts to position the university for a bright future.
“We are honored to have been named to the Forbes 2022 College Financial Grades list,” said Dr. Hines. “This recognition is the result of hard work by many, but it doesn’t mean the work is finished – this university’s mission is ongoing. I am pleased to reflect on the impact of HPU’s mission on our students and know it will continue with the support of the HPU family.”
