Using the latest technology, Brownwood ISD provides students educational opportunities from the lower grades through high school with industry certifications and dual credit offerings.
Three higher education institutions in the area (Howard Payne University, TSTC - West Texas Branch, and Ranger College, UT at Austin (OnRamps)) work closely with Brownwood ISD to offer dual credit courses to high school students. College credits are offered in both technical and academic programs ranging from Manufacturing and Automotive to Education and Health Sciences.
Comprised of approximately 30 11th and 12th-grade students, Brownwood Accelerated High School is taught at a brisk pace through computer-based instruction and allows students to gain the necessary skills they need to enter the workforce or a post-secondary school.
Private educational opportunities are also available in Brownwood for parents and caregivers looking for a faith-based school.
With classes from Pre-K to 12th grade, Brown County Christian School provides an education focused on academic rigor and encourages critical thinking, using educational materials written from a Biblical worldview.
A Christian, Classical University-Model School, Cross Classical Academy incorporates a classical curriculum within a university-style schedule that affords families the necessary time together to provide for spiritual and character development and equips its students for college with a strong work ethic and independent learning skills.
