Strong Public & Private Partnerships

The Building Improvement Incentive Program (BIIP) serves to revitalize and improve the appearance of Brownwood commercial buildings to positively impact the aesthetics and marketability by providing an incentive of up to $25,000.00 for approved improvements.

This program offers the private sector an incentive program to invest in Brownwood commercial buildings and acts as a catalyst for continued private sector investment through visible improvements.

Event Center Project

The City of Brownwood and Municipal Development District has been discussing and developing plans for a new multipurpose event center for over four years. After researching numerous event centers in cities across the state, City leadership decided to focus on preserving and redeveloping existing buildings in the Historic Depot Civic and Cultural Complex to embrace the rich history of the area, coordinate with existing meeting facilities, and reduce the cost of building from the ground up.
