3M is a global innovation company that works to improve daily life for hundreds of millions of people across the world. Its Brownwood location began manufacturing in 1965 and is a leading manufacturer of reflective sheeting for highway signs, license plates, protective clothing, and security laminates throughout the world. In 2020, the plant celebrated 55 successful years of operations in Brownwood.
The plant’s 910,000 sq. ft. facility sits on 163 acres and serves nine divisions. The plant’s first major expansion took place in 1967, with a second expansion to 450,000 sq. ft in 1974 and a third expansion to 600,000 sq. ft. in 1979. From 1989 to the present, the location has expanded and added several facilities.
The 3M Brownwood Plant is a global supplier, with worldwide logistics and distribution. The plant is also active in the community, supporting educational, health, social services, and other programs through partnerships, contributions, and volunteerism.
